Biography:

Luis Alberto Soria was born in Arrecifes (Buenos Aires, Argentina). He began his studies at the Bachillerato de Bellas Artes in La Plata, where he studied guitar with the teacher Guillermo Defeo and, at the same time, with his father, the guitarist Luis María Soria.

With the academic training he obtained in his city, he was accepted at the Conservatoire de Genève (Switzerland) in 1996, where he studied early music for 4 years. He continued his studies at the Conservatoire National de Mâcon (France) with the guitarist Salvatore Greco. There he studied for four years and graduated with the "Gold Medal". Two years later, he improved his way of playing the guitar and obtained a diploma in musical studies specializing in classical guitar. He was also a member of the Elyma Ensemble from that year until 2002. With the early music ensemble he has performed at countless festivals such as Ambronay in France (in 1996 and 1997), Palermo in Italy (in 1998 and 2000), Utrecht in Holland (in 2001 and 2002) etc.

As a guitar soloist he has toured throughout Europe and many countries in South America.

In 2004 and 2005 he directed the Bach Ensemble of the city of La Plata with which he traveled as guests to participate in the early music festival in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro and Juiz de Fora).

In March 2007, his famous work “Iscariote” was performed in France at the Aubenas Theatre as part of the play “FA'A'AMU l'enfant adoptif”. After teaching at the Ferney Voltaire and Gex Conservatories in France, he returned to Argentina in 2007 and settled in Mendoza. He taught at the National University of La Rioja and continues to tour internationally with guitarist Carlos Santi and maestro Eduardo Castañera.

He has recorded 10 albums of early music and 7 as a soloist and guitar duo with the K617 label (France).
